Vice President of Engagement
Gina is the Vice President of Engagement at Soteryx, having climbed her way up the ladder since first joining the company in January 2003 as an Account Executive. She brings over 18 years of experience in public relations work to the company—writing, editing, strategic counsel, media relations, thought leadership, campaign planning and execution, social media and much in between. Gina manages the Soteryx staff and accounts and is the lead for several high-profile clients in the energy and entertainment industries. Prior to Soteryx, Gina worked for the communications office for New York State Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation, playing an important role in membership drives and several joint media events with Governor George E. Pataki, and for Waltham, Massachusetts-based Schwartz Communications, Inc., working with multiple high-tech clients in the pharmaceutical and security industries. At Schwartz, she was also a part of the startup government relations team, organizing and facilitating client tours with key legislators and their staff. Gina has served on the Greater Amsterdam School District’s Board of Education in Amsterdam, New York, and completed two successful terms as an alderman on the Amsterdam City Council, representing the 3rd Ward of Amsterdam. Continuing to serve her community, Gina is an active member of the GFWC Century Club of Amsterdam, New York, which is an organization that sponsors annual scholarships, supports the arts and participates in community projects that promote friendship and understanding within the community. In her spare time, you can find Gina watching a Syracuse basketball game (Let’s go Orange!), checking out the stunning views in Lake Placid, New York, at her family’s timeshare or playing with her four-legged furry “nephews” Chippy the cockapoo and Ryker the pugglepei. She has a B.S. (graduating cum laude) in public relations from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York, and a Social Media Professional Certificate from Syracuse University’s University College.
